This is information from A to Z you must know about Malaysia before you travelling here. Hope this can help you to understands about our country.

A
Accomodation - There is a wide range of accommodation to suit all taste and budgets. From luxury, medium and budget hotels to youth hostel, timeshare apartments and serviced apartments, you will find safe and comfortable. Dont worry my friendz.

B
Banks - Most international banks are represented in major cities. Local banks provide the same line up of financial services. Most banks operate from 9.30 am to 4.oo pm and all banks are closed on saturday and sunday but in Kedah , Kelantan dan Terengganu banks operate from sunday to thursday and closed on Friday and saturday.

Bussiness Hour - Goverment officers operate from 8.15 am to 5.00 pm while most private companies open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Some companies work saturday, while others work a five daysweek. So please check first if you have some dealing with a government office or a private company.

Currency - The Malaysian Ringgit (RM) is the official unit of currency. Foreign currency may be changed easily at the numerous banks or money changers. USD1 is equivalent to Rm 3.60 ( look curency)

Climate - Malaysia enjoy a warm and humid tropical climate all year round with temperatures ranging between 21 degree Calcius to 32 degree calcius. If you are heading for he hill resorts where the temperatures range between 16 degree calcius to 21 degree calcius, please do bring along a light jacket. Rainy season in the East Coast is from November to march ( normally thats not sure ).

Drug - Please understand. Trafficking in illegal drugs carries the death panalty.

Electricity - Voltage is 220 - 240 volts AC at 50 cycles per second. Its best that you bring your own adaptor and converter if you are bringging in an applilance that uses a different voltage These can easily be purchased at the airport or electric store.

Festival - Ohh! There is many festival and event start from january till december. So you can refer the event here.

Government - Malaysia practises parliamentary democracy with a bicameral legislative system. The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong or King is the head of state while the prime minister is head of government.

Geography - Malaysia comprises Peninsular Malaysia and the states of Sabah and Sarawak in Borneo. Peninsular Malaysia lies 7 degree north of the Equator between its neighbour Thailand and southern neighbour Singapore. Its covers an area of approximately 329,758 sq km. Its capital is Kuala Lumpur.

Health - Malaysia is free of most contagious diseases. You would need a special vaccination only if coming from an endemic area. Do check on health regulations with your nearest Malaysian diplomatic mission.

Language - Bahasa Malaysia is the national language but english is widely spoken and understood throughout Malaysia, more so in urban areas. Other local dialects like Mandarin, Hokkien, Tamil and Hindi are used by their respective communities.

Major holidays and festival - Hari raya Puasa & haji, New year's day, Chinese New Year, Federal Territory Day, Wesak day, King's Birthday, National Day, Deepavali and christmas.

People - The Malaysian population comprises the main racers of the Malays, Chinesse, Indians, Iban and Kadazandusun who lives together harmoniously with other ethnic groups.

Religion - While Islam is the official religion, you will find others faiths freely practised as evident in the various places of worship throughout the country.

Time - Malaysia is eight hours ahead of GMT, 16 hours ahead of US Pacific Standard Time and 13 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time

Telecommunications - Malaysia has a good telecommunications infranstruktur from public phones using coins or prepaid cards to internet access via wireless broadbands to GPRS mobile phones. International calls can be made from your hotel room, public phones or any Telekom Malaysia outlets.

Transport - From Malaysia's main gateway the KLIA at Sepang loated 50km south of KLMalaysia have excellent hiway to connect between town from Perlis at north to Johor Bahru at south. There is an effective public transportation system served by buses, taxis and trains. If you drive be careful because Malaysia drive on the left-hand side of the road and you must have a valid international driving licence.

Visa requirements - Your passport or travel document must have six month validity period extending beyond your intended stay. Visa requirements for social and bussiness passes vary.If you arrival in Sabah or Sarawak, you will need to present your international passport even if you are arriving from Peninsular Malaysia.
